project 3...

Tiso, although far from a project, is my third Jaguar and latest purchase. But what made me go for an X-Type...?

Well, the answer quite simply was - for reliability! The XJS was a fantastic car, but with so much work still to do, it was not possible to use it to get to work - and I needed a car to get me to work. Unfortunately as I had no where to store the XJS, this poor beasty had to go, but now I need this sought after reliable car. Being me, it had to be a Jaguar, and I spent a lot of time looking at XJ's, S-Types and X-Types less than 10 years old. Unfortunately the all aluminium XJ's were way out of my price range, but the S-Types and X-Types settled nicely into my financial plans. The X-type eventually won over the S-Type purely because of that AWD option, which I thought would be a great thing to have, especially as at the time of writing there is a lot of snow and ice on the road!

My heart was originally set on the 3.0 litre, but unfortunately all the ones I saw were either high mileage, autos (and I really fancied a manual this time) or they were low specs. After being accustomed to all the goodies found on my XJ40 and XJS, it was only right to have a high spec beasty! Anyway, after much looking around, I actually came back to this Adriatic Blue 2.5 X-Type because it was so mint! Clearly well looked after by its former lady keepers and well maintained as well as being manual and low mileage, I felt she was not to be missed.

so, this may not be a project in the sense that the XJ40 and the XJS were, but there is always plenty to be done, and for any X-Type owners, it may be of use. If not, I hope you still enjoy having a look around my website :)
